ABOUT US

Owing the multidisciplinary aspect of the InTEnSO project, two complementary research groups of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) are involved in the development of the proposed technology. Members of the Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ) bring their knowledge about the synthesis of inorganic materials while members of the Photonics Research Labs (PRL) group, belonging to the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM), bring their knowledge in the field of photonics and signal processing.

With more than 3 decades of history, ITQ is a reference center in the area of catalysis, new materials (especially zeolite), photochemistry and transfer of basic knowledge in technological applications. Its workforce exceeds 200 professionals with an annual income of 6 M€ euros. In the last fifteen years, the Institute of Chemical Technology has generated more than 150 patent applications, of which 80 have been developed directly through R&D contracts with companies.

The PRL is internationally recognized as one of the leading groups within optical communications and sensors. The PRL is a founding group of the iTEAM, it is formed by almost 50 members. It has consolidated material resources > 20 M€ and has participated in more than 100 competitive research projects and 31 agreements with companies, in addition to collaborating in the creation of 4 spin‐off companies generated from the knowledge obtained through years by the group (VLC‐Photonics, CalSens, Ephoox and Ipronics).

AIMPLAS is a Center for Innovation and Technology (CIT) recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Economy, being registered with the number RCT-0212-0272 in the Register of Innovation and Technology Centers of the Ministry of Economy and is located in Valencia (Spain). With more than 20 years of experience, it offers a comprehensive and personalized solution for companies by coordinating R&D&I projects and technological services (analysis and tests, technical advice, training and competitive and strategic intelligence). The Centre promotes the modernization and introduction of new technologies through the implementation of R&D&I projects that contribute to the progress of the industry and economy. AIMPLAS belongs to the Spanish Federation of Innovation and Technology Entities (FEDIT) and the Network of Technological Institutes of the Valencian Community (REDIT) and to numerous national and international entities and Technological Platforms.
